My name is Sione Hurkmans. I am a graphic designer, illustrator and small shop owner. I am based in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

At the end of 2024 I started Studio Poon, my online shop where I sell different print-work. I run my shop besides my part-time job. Currently I am also a graphic design volunteer at Savannah Bay.

I studied at Grafisch Lyceum Utrecht, the Netherlands. Where I also did my internship, at Studio S2B. We worked there with small business, private persons and non-profit organisations.

For my work I use the programs from Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. I also use ProCreate for illustrations. I am fluent in the languages Dutch and English.

The work I enjoy most is anything related to print. Whether it’s a magazine, a poster, or any other analogue creation, I love bringing designs to life. What I enjoy most of all is the design process itself. It’s always a bit of a puzzle—figuring out the right colors, typography, and composition, and determining how best to visually communicate a specific message.

In my free time, I enjoy writing and drawing in my various journals and notebooks. I also love reading; my favorite books are George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series. Occasionally, I like to take on crochet projects, making bags or items like beanies.
